Fall family Swim 2023
Hi. Sorry about the delay in getting this information out. I was waiting to hear back from the facility and rec sports director before sending anything out. We were able to get some feedback this week and I just wanted to send an update regarding Fall Family Swim.
We’ve had a lot of questions about whether the city has a swim program over the fall and Early spring. The city has a program called Fall Family Swim. This program runs throughout the fall, with a pause during Thanksgiving week and later winter break, before coming back in January. The city has decided that this year we will be starting in the first week in October and the hours will be 6:00p-7:30p. We will provide practice M-Th during the entire season.
If you are interested in swim meets. We do not have a regular swim meet schedule during fall season. We will be going to the winter games of Texas in mid-January if your swimmer wishes to compete.
Due to the limit of swim coaches, there is a limit on the swim level of the participants. Swimmers must be proficient in strokes and be a confident swimmer.
Currently the sign-up is not in rec track but should be set up in the near future. I’ll send out a notice when it is active online at some point in September. If you have questions, we can try to answer them or direct you to the person who might be able to, if we can not.
The coaching staff is looking forward to seeing everyone who is interested and wants to wish all of our Barracuda family a very happy and productive school year.
P.S.
We understand that the high school practice moving to the afternoon will cause some conflict for some of our more experienced swimmers. If you feel that this might affect your swimmers, we can look into providing accommodations for those upper-level swimmers.
