Hi everybody! Saturday is going to be the first “meet” of the season, Time Trials. We try to run it as a regular meet for the swimmers and the parents so they can get an idea of what we do. The first official meet will be next week against College Station. We will have a ready bench for the swimmers to report to, timers and officials. There are a couple things that will be different, however.

Some of the differences for this meet are as follows.

• We try to have the swimmer swim all of the events that they are capable of doing (and occasionally barely capable)
• oIn a regular meet they can only swim a maximum of 3 events and 2 relays
• We will not have any relays
• Any times swam at this meet do not count towards end of the season invitationals.
• oThey do count in seating for the official meets.
• Official will note disqualifications for this meet but the swimmer may still get a recorded time
• oIf they get disqualified in a regular meet, no time is recorded

This meet will seem to go pretty quickly to the swimmers, but they swim 10 times as many yards during practice, so they might complain, but they are fine.

Warm-ups will be at 7:30 SHARP! We will start the meet by 8:30. If we have enough volunteers, we can get through this meet rather quickly, if not, we will have to stop until we do. All swimmers are required to go to the ready bench before swimming in NWAL, so please tell your swimmers to look for their event number and go to the ready bench as soon as it is called.

We want your kids to come check-in when they get to the pool, we will have a couple people that will check them off as they show up. You should be able to have even numbers and heat on the swimtopia app before the meet if the swimmers want to write them down before coming. We can help them with numbers during check in, but with 140 swimmers that can become crazy pretty quickly.

So, warm-up time is 7:30 tomorrow morning, meet will start by 8:30. I look forward to seeing everyone.
