If you look on the Swimtopia site, we have the TAAF regional meet online. You will notice that you have the ability to not only RSVP but also enter your swimmer in prospective events. We need you to give us what you are planning to swim by July 9th (Friday) at 12:00 PM. This is a crucial date they need more lead time for the TAAF region meet, which is why it is due early. I wanted to go over a few of the TAAF rules prior to signing up.

• All swimmers 14 – under need to swim the TAAF regional to be eligible to for the Games of Texas (GOT) state meet in Corpus Christi.
• Top three (3) finishers in the 14 – under events automatically qualify for the GOT.
• Swimmer 15 – over do not have to swim the regional to be eligible for the GOT.
  • Swimmers 15 - over can swim different events in Regionals than what they want to in the GOT.
  • If you are planning on swimming different events at the GOT we need to know by the day of the regional meet.
• All swimmers can swim regionals and choose not to swim GOT.
• Swimmers 14 - Under must declare that they are scratching for the GOT on the day of the regional meet.
• There are varying limits on events a swimmer can swim based on their age group.
  • 8 – Under age groups: Three (3) events total including relays
  • 9 – 10 age group: Four (4) events total including relays
  • 11 – 14 age groups: Four (4) individual events and two (2) relays total
  • 15 – 17 age group: Four (4) individual events and three (2) relays and (2) mixed relays total
  • 18 – Over age group: No limit
• In addition to normal relays, the 15 – over age groups have a few additional relays:
  • 200 medley relay mixed
  • 200 free relay mixed
  • 100 free relay mixed
• For 13 – over age groups, there is an additional individual race of 200 yard free

In conclusion, go to Swimtopia and sign up (RSVP) for your swimmers events. If you wish to swim in a relay, or relays, please let me know in the notes. If you wish to swim in a relays and are in an age group that has limited events, let me know your preference and which event you’d like to drop to swim in a relay. The deadline is Friday July 9th at 12:00 PM (noon)
