TAAF practice and information, July 05
I wanted to give an update for TAAF swimming starting on Monday. We are still having some problems on Rec track getting everything set up. We will get that up shortly, but for the time being, we need to set up practice times for Monday. So for Monday we are going to go with the same practice times as barracuda practice. That is a practice at 8:00-9:30, 10:00-11:30, and 6:30-7:30 in the evening for those who is unable to make the morning practice times.
We fully expect that practice times will change in the future. We normally have a reduced number that swim the TAAF than the regular season so that normally precipitates a single practice in the morning. However, because we don’t have the ability to get a proper count yet, we are going to run the double morning practice on Monday until we get a good count.
We are also going to be setting up the Regional TAAF meet on swimtopia this week. The meet is July 17that the BAC. We will need you to RSVP if you are planning to attend.
NOTE: If you are swimming and are 13 or older, you can swim different events in regionals than at the Games of Texas state meet. All swimmers 13 and up can automatically qualify for the Games of Texas competition. If you are 12 and under you must qualify at the regional meet to swim at the state meet. The top 3 finishers automatically qualify. If you only wish to swim the regional meet you can scratch for the state meet. That allows other swimmer to move up and qualify.
I hope this gives you an idea on what our plans are for the upcoming week and TAAF. You need to keep an eye out on rec track for official sign-up information. Also look in swimtopia for any changes to the swim schedule. If you have any questions, please feel free to email.
