As invitationals approach over the next couple of weekends that means the NWAL portion of our swim team's season is coming to a close and the T.A.A.F. (Texas Amateur Athletic Federation) portion is approaching!

If you or your child (yes adults can swim T.A.A.F.!) would like to continue swimming this summer we do offer one more guaranteed swim meet on July 13th here at the Bryan Aquatic Center - the T.A.A.F. Region V qualifying meet.

If you or your child is interested in swimming for the City of Bryan's T.A.A.F. Swim Team please let me know by Thursday June 27th. T.A.A.F. Swimming is organized by age group similar to NWAL Swimming : 8 & under; 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-70, etc in 5-year increments.

This is another opportunity to swim now that the NWAL season is wrapping up. There are two big meets associated with this swimming opportunity - The Regional Qualifier (July 13th here at the BAC) and The State Games of Texas (July 25th-28th at the TAMU Natatorium).

Anyone age 15 & Up is NOT required to swim at the Regional Qualifying meet in order to swim in the State Games of Texas Meet (I MUST have the State Meet entries for these athletes by the Regional Meet). Anyone age 14 & Under IS required to swim and place in the top 3 at the Regional Qualifying meet to swim in the State Games of Texas.

Cost and Practice Times are below. Option 1 covers the TAAF Registration Fee we are required to pay for all participants and the coaches time during practice. Option 2 covers the cost of registration with T.A.A.F. and allows you to swim with our team at the meets but not in the regularly scheduled practice time with coaches. You would be responsible for paying for a pass or the daily entry fee and would practice on your own. 

A number of the coaches will be swimming T.A.A.F. again this year and will be swimming from 7:00pm-8:00pm Monday-Friday but no official coaching will be given.

If you or your child (YES I am saying all of you parents can swim TAAF!!) wants to swim TAAF please let me know by Thursday June 27th. We have to register each athlete from our team with T.A.A.F. by June 30th.

If you want to swim but cannot make the registration payment at this time please let me know so I can get you registered as a part of the team before the deadline passes.

Practice Schedule:

June 24th - July 24th

Monday-Friday 8:30am-10:00am

Cost:

$40 per participant swimming ($6.00 if practicing on your own)

$7 per event at the Regional Qualifying Meet - $28.00 per relay

$7 per event at the State Games of Texas (These entries will be due on July 18th at the Regional Qualifier Meet)

The final piece of information regarding T.A.A.F. Swimming is that this swim program continues through the fall and swimmers are eligible to compete in the T.A.A.F. Winter Games meet held in Pearland, TX in January. If you or your child wants to participate in that program as well please be on the look out for additional information!
