As invitationals approach this weekend that means the NWAL portion of our swim team's season is coming to a close and the TAAF (Texas Amateur Athletic Federation) portion is approaching!

If you or your child (yes adults can swim TAAF!) would like to continue swimming this summer we do offer one more guaranteed swim meet on July 14th here at the Bryan Aquatic Center - the TAAF Region V qualifying meet. 

If you or your child is interested in swimming for the City of Bryan's TAAF Swim Team please let me know by Thursday June 28th. TAAF Swimming is organized by age group similar to NWAL Swimming : 8 & under; 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-70, etc in 5-year increments.

This is another opportunity to swim now that the NWAL season is wrapping up. There are two big meets associated with this swimming opportunity - The Regional Qualifier (July 14th here at the BAC) and The State Games of Texas (July 26th-29th at the TAMU Natatorium).

Anyone age 15 & Up is NOT required to swim at the Regional Qualifying meet in order to swim in the State Games of Texas Meet (I MUST have the entries for these athletes by the Regional Meet). Anyone age 14 & Under IS required to swim and place in the top 3 at the Regional Qualifying meet to swim in the State Games of Texas.

Cost and Practice Times are below. This covers the TAAF Registration Fee we are required to pay for all participants and the coaches time during practice. If you would like to swim with our team at the meets but are not available for the scheduled practice time with coaches there is another option available.

You can pay the $6 registration fee to the City to cover the TAAF fee and pay the regular daily entry rates for lap swimming (you can use a 25 punch pass for this). A number of the coaches will be swimming TAAF again this year and will be swimming from 7:00pm-8:00pm Monday-Friday but no official coaching will be given.

If you or your child (YES I am saying all of you parents can swim TAAF!!) wants to swim TAAF please let me know by Thursday June 28th. We have to register each athlete from our team with TAAF by June 30th. 

If you want to swim but cannot make the registration payment at this time please let me know so I can get you registered as a part of the team before the deadline passes.

Practice Schedule:

July 2nd - July 25th

Monday-Friday 8:30am-10:00am

Cost:

$40 per participant swimming ($6.00 if practicing on your own)

$7 per event at the Regional Qualifying Meet - $28.00 per relay 

$7 per event at the State Games of Texas (These entries will be due on July 18th at the Regional Qualifier Meet)
